I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
